New blog feature alert! Piggy-backing on the success of our renowned “20 Questions” series, we are now introducing something called “10 Things I Can’t Live Without”.
We all lead busy lives, and whether we like it or not it’s only a matter of time before we fall into habits of certain things we buy and use to help get through the day. Whether it’s snacks, hair gel, shoes or meditation rituals, we want to hear more about our community and how they keep things rolling day to day.
Up first is the one and only Ilan Cumberbirch, founder and director of Yard Athletics. Let’s see what 10 things he needs to get him through a hard day in the gym:
1. Blonyx HMB + Creatine & Beta Alanine + Egg White Protein Isolate
Blonyx offers an amazing array of products which I take on a daily basis. Their egg white protein isolate has been a game changer, especially if you have sensitivities to dairy. Also, if you use the “YARDHARD” discount code on their website you get 10% off.
If you’ve been in the Yard recently, you’ve probably seen people using these things called Theragun’s. Long story short, they’re amazing for loosening up and getting those knots out of your muscles. I use it every day and it’s been a game changer for overall performance and staying limber.
Want one for home??? Drop us a line at “[email protected]
” and we can get you 10% off.
3. lululemon 3″ Fast & Free Short
Some days you gotta go DEEP on the squats. Nothing worse than feeling constricted by non stretchy clothes in a workout. These 3″ Fast & Free’s by lululemon are ideal for getting low, just like Lil Jon.
4. YIWO Club Sweat Tee
Big fan of this company “Yeah, I Workout”, especially the boxier fit of the T-Shirts.
5. Nike Romaleo 3 Weightlifting Shoes
Weightlifting shoes make a huge difference for all hinge exercises (squats, cleans, deadlifts). The hard plastic sole helps position the heel higher, thus putting you in a better mechanical position.
6. Bose SoundSport Free Bluetooth Headphones
Nothing worse than dealing with a headphone cable in the gym. These solve that problem.
7. Henry Gould “Squat Rock” Playlist
Yard Athletics music & blog man Henry Gould
has a private Patreon account where he curates custom playlists, all accessible on Spotify via the Patreon app for $5 / month. The Squat Rock list guarantees a hard workout.
One of my favorite pieces of merch we’ve done to date. Sadly no more left! Guess they’re a collectors item now…?
Hard to “grip it and rip it” without proper chalk on the hands. Available by the handful in the white bucket @ Yard Athletics.
10. The Yard
Yard Athletics is nothing without our amazing community, and every day I come into work I feel grateful to be able to do what I love and share it with others. Big stuff to come in 2020, looking forward to sharing with everyone!
