20 Questions With Stephanie Gee: #YardHard Faithful

unnamed 1

Since the start of the Yard Athletics “20 Questions” series, we’ve been absolutely thrilled with all the submissions. Each has given us a chance to get to know our community better, and have a little fun while we’re at it.

Today we have the honor of getting to know Stephanie Gee, faithful regular of Yard Athletics and all around badass (who can likely squat more than you).

Does Steph prefer savory to sweet, Ryan Gosling vs. Ryan Reynolds, coffee or tea? It’s all below!

As always, if you’d like to have 20 Questions fired your way and featured on the blog, get in contact and we’ll set you up!

1. Hometown?

Vancouver… East Vancouver

2. Favorite Yard Athletics trainer?

Joce (… Ilan or Sam if they’re reading this!)

3. Clothing company you wish would sponsor you?

Revolve or Lululemon

4. Ryan: Gosling or Reynolds?

50/50? Gosling physically (he’d a stud in Crazy, Stupid, Love) – Reynolds personality (the banter with Blake Lively is hilarious)

5. Go-To after work drink?

Clouded Judgement from Nomad. It’s off the menu now, but if you ask they might whip one up for you. Couldn’t tell you what’s in it but I could easily down 5 of these

6. Best lunch spot in Vancouver?

Besides any JOEY or LOCAL, Duffins Donuts on 41st & Knight. Don’t go here for the ambience – just get the chicken torta sub (easy mayo) and trust me

7. Tell us something we don’t know about you.

I have a red belt in martial arts… had, I was 14. Do these things expire?

8. On a scale from 1-10, how hard was YARD WORK in Stanley Park?

Legitimately couldn’t dress myself the next day. So I didn’t… 14/10

9. Best thing about your job?

Flexing my creativity on a daily basis (and getting compensated for it). I get to visually communicate what our brand is about – there is nothing more satisfying than seeing your work come to life.

Plus- it’s a bonus when people actually like what you’ve created.

Professional backup dancer for Beyoncé

Worst: the weather in any other month

17. Sweet or Savory?

Savory

18. Best thing about Yard Athletics?

They’re experts at what they do! The crew is so down to earth and approachable. I’ve never felt uncomfortable even when I had no idea what I was doing. Special shout out to Joce though – who pushes you (in the best way) even when you don’t think you can go further (…and when you feel like your arms and legs are going to give in) she’s in your corner. I feel like superwoman after every one of her sessions. I wouldn’t have made the progress I’ve had without her. So much love for you!

19. Top purchase you made this past year?

$30 ‘leather’ mules from Target

20. Rule(s) to live by?

Eyes up, phones down, hearts open. It’s my screensaver!
